This is the perfect time to apply for the Canada Learning Bond. There are several options for starting the Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) for your children.
Applications can be made in-person at a bank or credit union (make an appointment) or with a financial planner or a RESP seller.
If you are comfortable making the application on-line, there are several options.
Canada Scholarship Trust has two on-line options – in both English and French.
The Royal Bank of Canada has an on-line option as well.
The OMEGA Foundation has a website called Smart Saver that allows you to start the application and then choose a financial institution (bank or credit union) to finish the application. Check it out here.
