Have you ever thought of becoming an Instrumentation and Control Technician?
They install, maintain, calibrate, design and troubleshoot networking systems, process control and environmental protection equipment in a variety of industrial environments.
Here is a list of duties an Instrumentation and Control technician may do:
- install, maintain and configure control and process systems
- calibrate, configure, install and troubleshoot all pneumatic, electronic, electrical, mechanical and analytical instrumentation devices
- calibrate and repair analytical instrumentation that monitors or controls flow, level, temperature, pressure, acidity, conductivity and humidity
- service process control communication networks
- service environmental and other analytical instruments
This job requires that you complete an apprenticeship training program consisting of on-the-job and in-school training. Generally, the time-frame to become competent in the trade of Instrumentation and Control Technician is 8,000 hours or 4 years.
