National Sweater Day has been observed since the early 2000’s to encourage people to wear layers of sweaters instead of turning up the heat. Sweater day also helps to raise awareness of our carbon footprint and how we can help with that. Making a commitment to wear sweaters in colder weather rather than turning up the heat could be a part of the solution.
The World Wildlife Fund (W.W.F.) established Sweater Day and promotes it every year.
