The first National Canadian Film Day (CanFilmDay) took place in 2014, with 70 screenings across the country. Since then, more than a thousand community screenings are held each year with tens of thousands of Canadians in attendance. An additional two and a half million watch a Canadian film each year on broadcast or streaming.
