National Child Day is celebrated in Canada on November 20 to recognize the 1959 signing of the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.
The theme of 2023 is the right to participate. A child’s right to participate in activities such as play, family, culture and learning is important to achieving self-actualization.
When children participate in social and learning activities, they become empowered to grow their voice and confidence.
Participating in education may be limited for some children due to family finances. Check to see if your child is eligible for the Canada Learning Bond.
There may be up to $2,000 available for post-secondary education. You won’t know unless you apply!
