Also known as the Games of the Olympiad, the Olympics is a major international multi-sport event held once every four years on leap years (except 1900 and 2021).
The first Olympic games were held in ancient Greece. The modern Olympic Games started in 1896 in Athens, Greece. Athletes from all over the world compete in over 40 events. Medals are awarded to the athletes who place first, second and third in their respective events.
