World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
June 15, 2024 by LorriK

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is recognized on June 15th each year. The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that an estimated 1 in 6 seniors are victims of elder abuse globally. Everyday the basic human rights of older Canadians are challenged and undervalued. This cannot continue.

On WEAAD, CanAge, EAPO, CNPEA and BC CRN will host a national conversation about preventing elder abuse.

This WEAAD consider how you can help to end elder abuse and protect the rights of older people.

Let’s continue to protect our seniors, protect their rights, and create a world free from elder abuse.

Visit this site to learn more about WEAAD activities.
