October 29, 2023 by LorriK

October 29th is World Stroke Day. According to the World Stroke Organization, 1 in 4 people over the age of 25 world-wide will experience a stroke. Strokes are the leading cause of death and disability.

Risk factors for strokes include diet, exercise, smoking and lifestyle. There are many careers in the health care field related to stroke prevention and treatment. If you are thinking of a career in the health care field, post-secondary education will be required.

Be sure to apply for the Canada Learning Bond to see you are eligible to receive between $500-$2,000 in free month to use for post-secondary education.
