National Radio Day

National Radio Day
August 20, 2023 by LorriK

National Radio Day gives us an opportunity to appreciate and celebrate what radio means to the world today.

In 1886, German physicist Heinrich Hertz identified radio waves. Three decades later Gulielmo Marconi invented a practical receiver for radio waves.

By the early 1900’s Radios were being used commercially. 20 years later, radios had become so popular that people were scrambling to buy them for their homes.

The use of Radios made news and music more accessible and brought everyone closer together.

Radios are used by governments and militaries for navigation and communication.

Technology has advanced significantly in recent years, but the invention of the radio is still relevant and important.
