If you love chocolate, today is your day! You can have it dark, milk, or white, with or without nuts. There is no limit to the different ways chocolate can be enjoyed!

Chocolate comes from the bean of the Theobroma Cacao tree, which grows in Central America, Mexico, and the north of South America. The use of Cacao seeds can be traced back as early as 1100 BC.

The Aztecs used to grind and drink the chocolate beans without any sugar and believed that cacao was a gift from the gods. (Well, who can argue with that?)

A brief history of chocolate

1550(ish) – cocoa beans were brought to Europe where they were combined with milk and sugar to make a very popular chocolate drink.

1780 – the United States built its first factory to make and distribute the new chocolate drink.

1842 – that chocolate bars produced by Cadbury in England.

1875 – Milk chocolate was invented in Switzerland

1900 – The first Hershey milk bar was produced

1907 – The Hershy’s Kiss was invented

Since then, the manufacturing of chocolate has constantly evolved, and today we have hundreds of different candy bars, and all kinds of chocolate bars with different fillings, gourmet chocolate, bonbons, chocolate truffles, and so on. The possibilities of what you can make with chocolate are also endless. It ranges from cakes and brownies to mousses, cookies, fudge, milkshakes, and ice cream.

Chocolate has many health benefits. A moderate amount of dark chocolate every day helps with heart and circulation, reduces the risk of strokes, reduces cholesterol, regulates your blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Dark chocolate can improve your mood because it releases endorphins when you eat it. (Chocolate makes you happy)
