International Accounting Day is held every year on November 10th.
Why?
Well, back in 1494 a man named Luca Bortolomeo de Pacioli, an Italian mathematician, published a book that contained bookkeeping practices.
It was actually a big math book that had “everything about arithmetic, geometry and proportion”. Because of this book Pacioli is considered the “Father of Accounting”.
The primary responsibility for accountants is to maintain the financial health of the organization or clients they work for. It can be a repetitious job or it can vary every day, depending on the industry they work in.
If you love working with numbers, problem solving, following and interpreting rules and regulations, you may be interested in an accounting career.
